Our Story

Since its inception in 1989, the Scotfield Group has maintained an impressive track record of delivering high quality schemes across England.

The Group is led by Chairman and Managing Director Martin Rapley. His dynamic approach has guided Scotfield to real commercial success which is demonstrated by its broad portfolio of developments in many prime sectors – including residential, leisure, retail, office, student accommodation, industrial and hotels.

Flagship developments include a 398,000 sq ft Ikea megastore in Sheffield, one of their largest in Europe in Sheffield. Lindley Moor, an innovative mixed residential and commercial use scheme along the M62 corridor. Festival Leisure and Business Park in Basildon, Essex, a 100 acre development with 750,000 sq ft of space making it one of the biggest stand-alone leisure parks in the UK. From its home at the heart of the Leeds, Scotfield is also responsible for The Gateway, a striking development which has now become a landmark shape on the former Howarth Timber Site on Crown Point Road, Leeds. The scheme comprises 550 apartments, 50,000 sq ft of office and commercial space, 218 bedroom hotel and 500 underground car parking spaces. Scotfield Group’s Chairman and Managing Director, Martin Rapley, used his drive and enthusiasm to obtain planning permission for the scheme in less than 9 months which enabled work on site to commence within 12 months from its beginning stages.
