The site was acquired from Howarth Timber in 2004 and developed from a Brownfield site and completed in 2009. The Gateway offices offer an unrivalled courtyard setting on the doorstep of Leeds City centre and makes up part of a vibrant £150m mixed-use scheme. This 800,000 sq ft development is the largest to be built in the east end of Leeds to date. It is also is home to 550 apartments and car parking for up to 500 vehicles.
Commercial tenants include Breast Cancer Haven and travel specialists The Flight Centre. It is also Scotfield’s headquarters. Alongside the offices there are retail outlets, bar/restaurant, gym and a 218 room IBIS (formerly Etap) hotel.
